How to create Activity Types in Memtime Projects

Label and categorize time entries by type or project phase

Activity Types in Memtime Projects let you label or categorize your time entries based on the nature of the work or the stage of the project. This helps you track and analyze your time more accurately.

How to create Activity Types

  1. Go to Memtime > Project Management > Settings > Activity Types.

  2. Click Create Activity Type.

  3. Assign a name, and a type of work category.

Each activity type can belong to one of the following categories:

  • Billable time

  • Non-billable time

  • Absence time

You can also create new types directly from the time entry creation window, if this option is enabled in the settings of that specific entity (client, project, or task).

Additional options

  • You can preselect a default activity type for each entity. This is helpful when the same activity type is always used for a project or client, so it doesn’t need to be selected manually every time.

  • You can make selecting an activity type mandatory, also in the settings of each entity.

Display in reports

By default, activity types are not shown in exported reports from Memtime.


To include them, enable the option “Show activity in 'Booked on' column” when generating your report.
