How To Enable Connecting 3rd Party Add-ons in Xero Practice Manager

To use the Memtime integration with Xero Practice Manager and export time entries, the setting “Connect third-party add-ons” must be enabled for each user in XPM.

This permission has to be set individually for each user by an XPM admin. Memtime cannot change this via the API – this is a Xero limitation.


Here's how to enable the setting:


  1. Log into your Xero Practice Manager account.

  2. Click on the Business section.

  3. Select Staff.

  4. Click on your name or the name of the person connecting the integration.


  5. Open the Permissions tab, and click on Practice Administration section.

  6. Enable the toggle Connect 3rd party add-ons.



Once enabled, Memtime can connect properly and export your time entries.

If you’d like to request a way to apply this setting to multiple users at once, you can contact Xero support directly and ask for a bulk permission update option.
