Memtime is not tracking the details of my PhpStorm projects

If Memtime is not showing you the name of your PhpStorm projects, you may need to change your settings

When using Memtime to track your time while working in PhpStorm, you may want to capture the full path of the files you're working on. This helps with more precise time tracking, especially if you work with multiple projects or files with similar names. This guide explains how to configure both PhpStorm and Memtime to ensure the full file paths are displayed in Memtime’s activity tracking.

Step 1: Configure PhpStorm to Show Full File Paths in the Window Header

First, ensure that PhpStorm is set up to display the full path of files in the window header. Memtime uses this information to capture the activity accurately.

1. Open PhpStorm.
2. Go to Preferences (press Ctrl+Alt+S on Windows/Linux or Cmd+, on macOS).
3. In the Preferences window, navigate to:
   • Appearance & Behavior > Appearance > UI Options.
4. Scroll to the UI Options section and check the option "Always show full path in window header".
   
   
   
   
5. Click OK to apply the changes.

Now, PhpStorm will display the full path of the currently opened files in the window header, which Memtime will use for tracking.

If you are working with multiple instances of PhpStorm, Memtime should now capture the full path of each file or project in the window title, providing more context for each tracked activity.

Step 2: Verify the Captured Activities in Memtime

After configuring both PhpStorm, you can verify that the activities are being captured correctly.

1. Open Memtime and navigate to the Time Tracking tab.
2. Look at the activities recorded while working in PhpStorm. The file paths should now include the full path of the files you have been working on.

Troubleshooting

• If the full path isn't appearing in Memtime: Ensure that the full path is being shown in PhpStorm’s window header. Memtime relies on this information from the application window title.
• Multiple projects in PhpStorm: If you're switching between multiple projects, Memtime should automatically adjust and track the full path for each project as long as the window title is updating in PhpStorm.
