How to connect to Odoo

You can connect Memtime to Odoo and take your time-tracking to the next level.

Before you continue reading the article, it is important for you to know that we officially support Odoo v13, v16 and v17

The first step to connecting Odoo to Memtime is to install it as a Connected App.

 
To install Odoo as a Connected App, you can try the following:

1. Open the Memtime App and click on the menu burger to select Connected Apps.

2. If you do not already see Odoo as a Connected App, you can click on the "Find More Connected Apps" button to easily find it.

3. This will take you to your browser, and the Memtime marketplace website will open. You can search here for 'Odoo' or any other Connected App you would like to try.

Once you select Odoo, click on the "Connect to Odoo" button.


4. A pop-up window will appear, asking for your Odoo URL and database name.


To find your Odoo URL: Log in to your Odoo account and copy the first part of the URL.



To find your database name:
It’s usually displayed in the upper right corner after logging into Odoo. If it’s not visible, follow these steps:

  1. Press CTRL + K on Windows or CMD + K on Mac to open the Shortcuts window.
  2. Type "debug" and press Enter to activate developer mode in Odoo.

Once developer mode is activated, your database name should appear in the upper right corner.

5. After connecting, go back to your Connected Apps in Memtime and click on "Refresh Installed Connected Apps" to see Odoo installed.

 

The next step is to authenticate Odoo in Memtime. 

 

1. Select Odoo in your Connected Apps in Memtime and click on "Authenticate now".

2. A Pop-up window will appear to ask you for your Odoo credentials. Please, introduce them.

3. Go back to your Connected Apps in Memtime and click on "Refresh Installed Connected Apps" to see Odoo authenticated.

 

 

5. After authenticating Odoo, you can change some settings according to your preferences. You can choose which tasks to see in Memtime, as well as set a fallback start time for time entries created in Odoo. 


6. Before start creating time entries, click on the "Project Management" tab in Memtime and sync your Odoo projects and tasks. 

7. Once they show up, you can start creating time entries and assigning them to your Odoo projects and tasks by clicking on the "Time Tracking" tab.

You will be able to see the time entries you created by logging into your Odoo account, and going to Timesheets.
