Your Memtime Data and captured activities are stored in a database locally on your device. This database can be manually transferred to a new or different device.
Attention! We do not officially support this process at the moment. Please, be careful as you handle your data because copying and transferring your Memtime files might lead to data loss.
To avoid any potential data corruption, it is crucial to ensure that the Memtime app is completely closed before performing any actions with the database.

To transfer your Memtime data to a new device do the following:
- Download Memtime on the new computer (Memtime.com/download) and then install, start and configure it. This article shows how to configure Memtime.
- Quit Memtime completely by clicking on the small Memtime icon in the app bar (right-click on the Memtime icon, then select "Quit Memtime").

Completely quit Memtime on the old computer as well, and navigate to the Memtime data folder on the old PC.You can get to the folder with the databases as follows:
C:\Users\"Your user"\AppData\Local\Memtime\UserIf you cannot find any of the folders, you can enable the option to view hidden folders.
4. The final step is to find the User folder (C:\Users\"Your user"\AppData\Local\Memtime\User) and open it.

- First, copy the file called core and paste it in the same spot in the new device. It contains all of your Captured Activities.
- Then, copy the folder with an alphanumeric name and paste it in the same spot in the new device as well. It contains your user settings and time entries.

You should now be able to see the data from your old PC in the Memtime of the new PC.

The Data files are not bound to the operating system. You can transfer your windows' data to a macOS or Linux device as well.
