How Memtime Works with DATEV
This guide shows you how Memtime integrates with DATEV EO Comfort – from automatic time tracking to transferring entries to DATEV.
1. Automatic Background Time Tracking
Memtime automatically detects what you’re working on – for example, opened DATEV programs, documents, Outlook emails, Excel spreadsheets, or websites. Everything – truly everything – is recorded down to the minute in the background, completely automatically and locally on your device.
It doesn’t matter how many programs or windows you have opened at the same time: Memtime documents every activity – from an email to Client A, research for Client B, to specific work in DATEV. All time tracking is precise, continuous, and requires no manual input.
All recorded activities appear chronologically in a timeline, serving as a digital memory aid when creating your time entries.
All data captured in Memtime is stored locally on the device where Memtime is installed. There is no cloud storage, and no colleague can access the data – it stays securely on your device.

2. Creating a Time Entry & Selecting a Client
You can easily create a time entry from the right-hand side of the app. A detailed guide for creating time entries can be found here: How to Create Time Entries.
When creating a time entry, you select your client, the relevant project (e.g., payroll, meeting), and the service provided.
Simply click on one or more automatically tracked activities to create time entries directly – no duplicate entry, no manual tracking.

Based on the automatically captured activities, time entries can be created and sent directly to DATEV EO Comfort – manual time entry in DATEV is no longer necessary.
Memtime automatically imports your relevant clients and projects from DATEV, so when creating your entries you only need to select what you worked on.

Additionally, you can even automate the creation of time entries: for example, you can define rules such as: “Whenever I work on a specific client in DATEV, automatically create a time entry and export it directly to DATEV.”
Learn more about creating these rules in this article: How to Create Rules for Automation
3. Time Entries are Exported to DATEV
After saving, the time entry is automatically transferred – no further action is required. In DATEV EO Comfort, the entry appears directly in the project overview with service assignment, duration, employee, and description.
