Setting up Memtime with DATEV EO Comfort in DATEVasp environment
This article shows the steps users must follow to use Memtime on DATEVasp, as well as the necessary actions that DATEV Support has to do for the users.
If you have DATEVasp, you can forward this article to DATEV, so they can assist you with the setup of Memtime.
1. Create a Memtime account (step for users)
1. Open our website:
2. Create an account.
3. During registration, you will be asked if you want to add a Connected App. Select DATEV EO Comfort here.
4. You will then be asked to enter your DATEV Connect URL.

If you use the DATEV Connect interface via a DATEV ASP server, the URL is always the same:
http://localhost:58454
4. Enter the URL and click on Submit.
Entering the URL in the Customer Portal
If you skipped this step earlier and now want to complete it, you can enter the URL either directly in the Memtime app or in the Customer Portal.
You can choose the option that is easier for you. This step only needs to be done once.
You can enter the URL in the Customer Portal using the following steps:
-
Log in to the portal: 🔗 https://portal.memtime.com/
-
Go to the "Connected Apps" section.
-
Click "Manage" for DATEV EO Comfort.
-
Click "Edit connection" and enter the URL.

Entering the URL in the Memtime app
The URL can also be entered directly in the installed Memtime app using the following steps:
-
Open the Memtime app.
-
Click on the Menu icon (☰) → Connected Apps.
-
Scroll down in the DATEV EO Comfort settings and click on the "Set URL" option.

2. Check the DATEV Connect connection (step for DATEV Support)
Before continuing with the setup, we strongly recommend checking the DATEV Connect connection.
Using the guide DATEV Connect connection check, your Support team can test whether the DATEV Connect interface is reachable. This helps avoid connection issues early on:
📢 IMPORTANT: Please always complete this step or pass it on to your IT team before continuing with the setup.
3. Install Memtime (step for the DATEV Support)
In DATEVasp environments, a so-called approval request often needs to be submitted to DATEV before third party software like Memtime can be installed.
More information and the request form can be found here:

Relevant is section 3.3 "Checking and connecting third-party solutions".
4. Set up a Service User (step for DATEV Support)
After Memtime is installed, DATEVasp can also set up a Service User for you.
🔗 Setting Up a Service User for Memtime
With the steps from this article, it is not necessary to assign rights to each individual DATEV user, as this Service User will be used for API access.
After the Service User was set up, DATEV can provide you with the credentials for it.
5. Start Memtime and Add a Service User (step for admin users)
1. Open the Memtime app and go through the configuration process.
2. Navigate to:
Project management → DATEV EO Comfort → Settings
3. Scroll down to Advanced Settings, and enter your Service User credentials.
NOTE: This step needs to be done only once and it will be applied for all users within the same Memtime account.
You will be only able to set the Service User up only if you have administrator permissions in your Memtime account. If you don't have administrator rights, but DATEV Support has provided your team with Service User data, you can ask your Memtime administrator to complete this step for you.
6. Authenticating with DATEV in Memtime (step for all users)
This step needs to be done by all users in their own Memtime app.
1. In Memtime, navigate to:
Project management → DATEV EO Comfort → Settings
Click Authenticate and sign in using your DATEV server login credentials.
Memtime is designed to automatically fill in the username for you.
After successful authentication, your DATEV entities are automatically imported into Memtime.
You can then book time to your jobs directly in the "Time tracking" tab or check the current import settings for the DATEV EO Comfort integration in the settings section.
7. Invite other users to your Memtime account (optional for users)
After connecting your Memtime account to the DATEV EO Comfort integration, you can invite other team members to your Memtime account so they can test or use Memtime with you.
This step is optional. If you want to invite additional users, you can follow this guide:
🔗 How can I invite new users to my account?
Once invited, invited users can start using Memtime once it's installed by DATEV Support. However, you can come back to this step later at any time.
